What
is special about the Playhouse Nursery?
We
opened in 1992, when we were unable to find a nursery that we felt
comfortable with to care for our own 2 year old daughter. Our need
was for a small private nursery with a welcoming family environment.
We
now cater for a maximum of 16 children aged 2 to 5 years, in a
nursery that is attached to our own house. We have the benefit of a
large 90 foot garden, overlooking private fields to the rear. There
is ample on and off street parking and a large local park
appromimately 100 metres away.
Our
highly competative prices and quality of service mean that a large
percentage of our customers are either repeat users or have been
recommended by past or present customers.

The
importance of the early years
The
importance of the early years in a child's development cannot be over-emphasised.
At the Playhouse Nursery we believe in the establishment of sound
foundations for future learning. This is achieved through a wide
range of activities and experiences, which are offered to our
children. Our environment provides a homely and caring experience
that offers the stimulation to explore, create, imagine and enquire.
We have found that play experiences are critical in the development
of a healthy self-esteem.

The
four main needs of pre-school children are:
-
The
need for love and security
-
The
need for praise and recognition
-
The
need for new experiences
-
The
need for framework for responsible behaviour
Our
aim is:
-
To
provide care of the highest calibre.
-
To
promote high standards in all areas
-
To
nurture an awareness of moral values
-
To
develop the physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills in
every child
-
To
encourage the children to learn through a wide variety of play activities.

We
at the Playhouse Nursery aim to meet these needs, in our daily
involvement with the children.

Our
team of caring professionals aim to provide the highest calibre of
childcare through a personalised programme designed to meet your busy
schedules. Our admissions procedures are flexible to allow time for
discussion with you as parents and for your child to feel secure in
their new setting.
We
encourage you as parents to contribute to the time your child spends
with us at the Playhouse and endeavour to keep you informed of your
child's progress and achievements during their time at the nursery.
