Partnership
with Parents
At
the Playhouse Nursery, we endeavour to make parents and carers feel
welcome and there are opportunities for collaboration amongst
parents, staff and children. We recognise the role that you have
already played in the early education and development of your child.
We believe your continued involvement is critical to successful
learning. Parents are fundamental in their child's care and
education, this is acknowledged by us, and a partnership based on
shared responsibility, understanding, mutual respect and
communication is encouraged and valued.
With
this in mind, we provide regular reviews on your child's progress.
Our
aims:
We,
at the Playhouse Nursery, actively seek to develop partnerships with
our parents in the following ways:
-
Listening
to parent's accounts of their Child's development and any concerns
they may have.
-
Settling
in arrangements for the child are flexible and take into account the
individual needs of both the child and the adult.
-
We
recognise that parents can provide us with knowledge and expertise
to support our learning opportunities for the children.
-
Keeping
parents informed of their Child's development and discussing any
concerns that we may have.
-
Keeping
parents fully aware of the curriculum through, written information,
our website, displays, formal and informal discussions.
-
Inviting
parents to provide information to their child's care giver whilst at
the nursery.

From
time to time, the Nursery hosts garden parties for our parents and
their children. We have found this to be a useful environment for
parents to meet each other and experience the environment that their
child is being cared for in. It also provides the opportunity for
parent and staff interaction over and above the brief times at drop
off and collection of your child.

The
nursery encourages a two way process of feedback to benefit each
child's development and learning opportunities.
